Catching UP...May 2, 2012

Wow...It has been awhile since we have posted on here....

A little quick post to catch everyone up to where we are today.

Cole and Ella are 4. They have almost completed their first year of 3 year old preschool.  They both have learned so many new things.  They love going to school everyday. They have been going to Webster Elementary in Urbandale.  Everyday is so much fun to hear about all the things that they did at school.  It has been a wonderful experience having them at school all day...they are going to be ready when they start kindergarten...but not for another year....that is going to be a tough day when it arrives.

Cole is into superheros now. He loves to pretend he is one and even play them with his buddies. Cole enjoys watching his superhero shows whenever he can sneak one of our phones or the IPAD.  He also has his favorite puppy that goes everywhere with us...his name is "woof woof".  Cole has a good heart and wants to make his mom and dad happy most of the time. He is enjoying playing tennis and recently starting Little Ninjas.

Ella is our lil' smarty. She is a steel trap and remembers everything anyone says to her. I think a couple years ago we said we would get a dog when she is 7, well she's going to hold us to that. Ella likes to play with anyone she can "take care" of or who is older than she is. She is one tough cookie...just tonight she took a spill on her bike and has a huge red mark on her collar bone and was hardly phased. The really enjoys playing with babies and taking care of her little sister.

We celebrated their 4th birthday in Disney World! They had a great time. This was a wonderful family vacation. We also went to my grandpa Bob's house in Engelwood, Florida. We got to go on the boat, play on the beach, swim in the ocean and spend some time hanging out in the warm Florida sun.

Madelyn will be 2 in less than 30 days. She is growing like a weed and does everything Cole and Ella do. She is beginning to talk in sentences and says the funniest things.  She has been at an in-home daycare this year and it has become her 2nd home....she LOVES going to see her "buddy" Broden everyday, Baby Grady and of course Chelsey! Madelyn is becoming more and more independent everyday. She loves to tell us "Mamaleyn do it".  She says her name so cute we ask her all the time to tell us her name. She is a ham and loves taking photos!!! She's growing way too fast!

Schott baby #3

Well, when I first started this blog it was in hopes of giving daily/weekly/monthly updates on the adventures of our family, notably Cole and Ella. Life kind of got in the way over the past year or so and I haven't kept the blog updated and has become all but extinct. With some very exciting news to share, I want to bring the blog back to speed and promise I will do my best to keep it updated as good resource for knowing what is happening in the lives of Andrew, Ashley, Cole, Ella and now Baby X!!!! We found out recently that Ashley and I are expecting our 3rd child and as of today is 11 weeks along. The due date is June 2nd. Very shocking yes, but also very exciting and after seeing the ultrasound and the little guy/gal squirming all over the place it made it very real! All is well at the Schott household and Cole and Ella continue to take on something new each and every day. They are a handful, but we wouldn't have it any other way. It's late and well past my bedtime. Take care!

4 month birthday on 7/24/08

I happened to dress Cole and Ella in the same clothes as when they were 3 months old. If you take a look on the blog at their 3 month pictures, you'll see how much they've grown. Gramma Debbie gratiously took some pictures on the day.

Gramma Debbie is watching the kid's throughout the day and will continue to until she goes back to school for the year now that Ashley is back to school teaching (she's at a year round school, so they start mid July).

Happy kids!

Ella was excited that it was her 4 month birthday!

Cole was swinging in his seat and holding on tightly.

Rice Cereal

Cole isn't quite sure what to think about rice cereal at this point. He puts everything in his mouth he can get his hands on and chews it, so I think when the spoon goes in his mouth he just wants to chew on it and the rice cereal happens to go down.

Ella's our eater, so she isn't bashful about taking in the rice cereal. When she sees the spoon coming, she'll open her mouth as wide as she can.

Cole loves to grab onto things and put them in his mouth, so when I wrapped his hands around the handle of the sippy cup, it instantly went into his mouth. He hasn't quite figured out how to tip the sippy back and make the water/milk go down yet, but we're getting closer.

Ella's also a natural with the sippy cup. She's such a little cutey and is looking (and getting a personality) more and more like her mom each day.

Trip to Lacrosse, WI

These are the shades that Cole borrowed from his cousin Luke.

This picture is shortly after Cole and Ella enjoyed their first swim in a hotel pool. They weren't overly excited about the swim, but weren't terrified of it either.

Each night at the hotel we stayed at they had happy hour from 5-7 and you could enjoy two complimentary drinks. We only made it down twice and this is one of the nights.

Our trip to Lacrosse was for Ashley to get her Masters from Viterbo University. This is a picture of a few girls that Ashley had class with.

Trip to Lacrosse, WI

This is a picture we took while relaxing along the Mississippi River and a ferry happened to go by. They have a really cool park and walkway right along the River.

Ella is getting good at putting her head up now and trust me it won't be long before she's crawling all over the place.

Good family picture with the Mississippi and some of the Wisconsin bluffs in the background.
